Wednesday Afternoon 7th October – subject to Local Highway Authority approval, there will be the opportunity to join a procession of classic vehicles on a local ‘sight seeing’ road trip of approximately 20 miles in total, passing through stunning locations such as Mullion Cove, Cadgwith Cove, Lizard Village/Point and Poldhu Cove. Alternatively, the time is yours to explore Cornwall at your leisure.
Thursday Evening 8th October – there will be complimentary live music in the Vista Lounge at the Hotel Polurrian. All participants will also have the opportunity to stopover for one or more nights for the weekend in Cornwall if they wish and/or to travel back home before the start of the next week.
The whole trip from Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire to Mullion in Cornwall is c470/480 miles, so hence the name of ‘The Loxley Collection 500 UK Roman Road Classic Vehicle Tour’, traveling significant sections of famous Roman roads that include both Ermine Street and the Fosse Way. Indeed, the route will include virtually all of the c220 mile Fosse Way from the Historic Heart of the Roman City of Lincoln through to North Devon. Whilst the preference would be for all entrants to travel the whole c470/480 miles and stop at all five overnight locations, consideration can be given to appropriate flexibility for entrants only joining for part of the tour and/or also choosing additional stopping over locations if they particularly wish to.
Subject to overall parking demand, car trailers and additional vehicles are welcome, but must be booked at least four weeks in advance of arrival. No entry fee is payable, but all participants are encouraged to raise money for their chosen charity and assistance for the appropriate publicity can be provided where reasonably required.
